Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park
Approximately 4,500 acres of wilderness and natural open space land. Within the park lands are mature coast live oaks, western sycamores, elderberries and willows, two year-round streams and more than 30 miles of official trails. Some of the oaks are over 200 years old and reach heights of over 50 feet. Many rare and endangered plants and animals make this park their home. This park is designated as a wildlife sanctuary. The Canyon supports chaparral and riparian communities including California scrub oak, coastal chola, coyote brush, lemonade berry, white sage and black willow.
