Fiscalini Ranch Preserve
Fiscalini Ranch is a 437-acre central California coastal preserve with 70 acres of old growth Monterey pine forest dating back to the 1800s. The Friends of Fiscalini Ranch maintain the preserve and have replanted 55 acres with native Monterey pines. The preserve includes coastal, hillside, and forested trails and the tree canopy is nearly all Monterey pine forest with an understory of coast live oak. Monterey pine habitat is restricted to approximately 13,000 acres worldwide and Cambria’s 3,000 remaining acres are the stand with the lowest tree species diversity. Docent-led tours share the complexity and diversity of creatures and plants thriving in this old-growth forest.
