DeWitt Nature Center
DeWitt Nature Center is a 15.5 acre forest centered between DeWitt High and Junior High Schools. A recently felled White Oak revealed an impressive 185 rings, which ranks it among the oldest trees in the forest. The DeWitt Nature Center is an exceedingly rare example of old-growth Oak-Hickory forest in mid-Michigan, and is of excellent quality.
