Kyle Woods State Nature Preserve
Although primarily a beech-sugar maple community, Kyle Woods has a striking diversity of woody species and is more complex than similar woodlots in northeastern Ohio. Tree species include American basswood, cucumber magnolia, wild black cherry, black tupelo, beech, tulip trees and several species of oaks and hickories including several white oaks more than 300 years old. Sugarbush is present in the forest. A nearby subdivision that was constructed in the early 2000s has caused some forest distress on that border.
