Red Canyon- Dixie National Forest
The Red Canyon area has been called the "most photographed place in Utah". The brilliant red soil contrasts with the green pines. The Red Canyon Trail System is widely known and very popular and includes diverse habitats of mixed conifer forests and woodlands with 255 acres of old-growth Ponderosa Pine, Douglas Fir and Pinyon Juniper.
Red Canyon is within the Dixie National Forest which is almost 2 million acres across southern Utah and home to wildlife species such as cougar, bobcat, blue grouse, golden eagle, cottontail rabbit, wild turkey, antelope, and the Utah prairie dog.
