Voorhees Nature Preserve
In its 729 acres, Voorhees Nature Preserve offers trails with scenic views of the Rappahannock River, including two overlook spots, and a foot bridge across Owl Hollow Creek. The preserve is adjacent to the Rappahannock River Valley National Wildlife Refuge, which the Nature Conservancy has worked to expand with help from diverse partners. A mature hardwood forest covers the uplands. Flowering wetland plants enliven Owl Hollow marsh, especially during springtime. The diverse terrain and aquatic features support an abundance of wildlife including old growth trees, bald eagles, beavers, foxes, turkeys, diverse flowering plants and an array of amphibians.
