Muskego Park

Muskego Park spans 193 acres. The hardwood forest is dominated by old white and red oaks with occasional large sugar maple, black walnut, bitternut and shagbark hickory, butternut, white ash, basswood, black cherry, ironwood, Kentucky coffee tree, and blue ash (a state-threatened species). Most trees on this site are not exceptionally big, likely because the site was grazed at some point in its history. The beautiful forest contains a variety of trees, flowers, and wildlife. The exceptionally rich spring flora contains wild leek, toothwort, bloodroot, several species of trillium, green dragon, and red baneberry. Breeding birds include the state-threatened cerulean warbler.
