Celebrating Giving Tuesday 2021

November 30th, 2021 was a date to remember for the Old-Growth Forest Network! This year’s Giving Tuesday set a record for OGFN in terms of donations and engagement, all coming from the members of this special community of forest protectors. The Old-Growth Forest Network set a hefty goal of raising $10,000, well over previous totals, and we’re ecstatic to say that we surpassed our goal. Coming in at a grand total of $11,056, our Giving Tuesday donation total was an 847% increase from 2020! We heard from over 44 individuals, families, and organizations that all wanted to be involved in the continued protection of old-growth forests. Donations came from all over the country and included both returning and first-time givers. It was amazing to see how many people turned up to support old-growth forests!

As we turn over a new year, the staff at the Old-Growth Forest Network would like to take the time to thank each and every one of you who has believed and supported our mission. Whether you’ve been here from the start or just joined the community, we appreciate all that you do in the name of protecting as many of our cherished forests as possible. We believe that mature forests should be protected for generations to come, so that all may enjoy the biodiversity and beauty of these natural spaces.

2022 is going to be a big year for OGFN, with numerous forest dedications, educational talks, and lots of scouting trips to assess potential Network Forests already on the books. Not to mention OGFN turns 10 this year! Stay tuned for more events coming up where we celebrate the past ten years of forest conservation and community building. We hope that you join us as we all continue to advocate for and protect old-growth forests across the country.
